Default PT le 6.7 Midi Problem (cant assign output)

I have the 6.7 le using xp, I'm trying to use pt as a master and have it control a mpc. Its been working for about 6months and all of a sudden it won't let me assign the midi outputs. I even tried creating a new instrument under studio setup, but when I get to the part where it says "input port-output port" it won't let me switch it to anything ( stays on default-none). Please help this is really aggravating.

dsmith

If you go into Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>Audio (Tab)>MIDI Music Playback, can you select a Port from your MIDI Interface?

Are you using Digidesign hardware as your MIDI Interface, if so, what unit?

I don't own a 002, so to be fair, I'd be guessing, but have you tried a quick re-install, sometimes for no apparent reason, things get corrupt.

You must power on the 002 before your computer...

I tried powering on pt before the computer and still no luck. This sucks. I also checked to see if the pt drivers were running and they looked good .
