Default Moving from 10.6.8 to 10.7 or 10.8??

Moving from 10.6.8 to 10.7 or 10.8??

Hi,
I have 2 old Mac Pro machines here 2007 and 2008 working as day one, both with 12/13 GB of RAM.

I was considering upgrading from my solid stable MAC OS 10.6.8/ Pro Tools HD 10.3.10 to MAC OS 10.7 or 10.8, keeping PT Hd 10.3.10.

I am not sure which OS I should target for!
My intention is to use the latest versions of plug-ins like Ozone 8 (requires 10.8), Waves WLM , newer compatible web browser and a few others, along with Pro Tools HD 10.3.10( Hd Accel rig).

Any info is welcomed!
Thanks

Waves V10 requires 10.11.6 or later. If you stay with the furry cats you cannot go past V8

I received a link from Waves that it can do fine with a workaround for 10.7.

My concern is if 10.8 isn´t too heavy for a 2008 MAC Pro.

For my surprise, some folks at Gearslutz posted that they have had sucess with 10.9 (Mavericks).

No, can run newer OS with it easy.

The most obvious drawback of 10.9 is PT uninstaller somehow doesn't work. Doesn't mean much now that there will not be any new updates to it, but there are other slight incompatibilities too. If you can live with those, then maybe Mavericks is the one for you.

If you want to be on the safe side, then Mountain Lion 10.8.5 is the latest supported for PT10
