7.3 \"Save as to 6.4.1\" gain settings bug ?
Hey Guys.. so playing back a 7.3 session on a 6.4.1 Mix+ rig... I found that WITHOUT saving gain settings down to +6 duing the save as dialog. the 6.4.1 machine fails to be able to playback levels properly..... Meaning setting all faders to 0 and using a tone generator across all faders.. they can not be made to sit at unity gain... and no amout of hardware resetting gets you to level gain..
Not sure if this is a bug.. but there sould be some warning on opening the session on the older hardware that output volumes will be wrong.... something is whacky here... This is common as most film stages still use PT 6.4.1 or even PT 5.1.3 OS9 as playback recorders... especially on stages that have 5 or 6 Protools rigs... Let me know what you think... Thanks Tom... |
