LTC inserters with HD-SDI video

Hey all,

Could someone recommend an LTC inserter to embed timecode on a HD signal via SDI?

As assumed, I would like to take the LTC out of SYNC HD to embed timecode on HD video coming out of a BM/ AJA card. The option to have it in 4K might be a really nice touch.

If you just need a timecode burnin on the file could you use Davinci Resolve?

BY inserting LTC, you mean an audio track with timecode in the SDI stream ?
You can use an audio to SDI box (for example the Blackmagic audio to SDI mini converter), put your SDI stream and the LTC on inputs, it will output what you want.

Sounds like he needs a window burn. Very old feature request... should be trivial for PT to do it.

There were boxes to do this for SD video. Never used one for HD though.

So you were looking for a Timecode inserter, not a LTC inserter.

I see what you're saying Papalou, you are right that this might lead to some confusion. I've amended the post accordingly.

Nevertheless, the subsequent sentence:

should have revealed what that it's not the audio signal that I'm after embedding.

we use TC inserters by Alperman & Velte (German company).
They are switched via our LAWO campus audio router and its VSM panels.

That's an enterprise-level solution though, and certainly not cheap.
