Not in my experience and I mix 4 hours of TV a week on my windows pro tools system. In every format from stereo to surround to atmos. I normally run HD pro res video. Actually I think I get better performance with video on windows. Aren't mac guys always looking for a way to make AVE perform better? Video slave ect. I'm running video though a aja 4k thunderbolt io.

I get better Video performance on Windows, but that could be down to a better GPU.
But I agree, it looks like a ported compromise compared to the OSX version.
