Default I need help getting my keyboard to work properly

I plugged in my CASIO Privia PX-150 keyboard to ProTools, made my instrument track, made an Addictive Keys insert, and pushed record enable. The problem is, every time I hit a note on my piano with record enable, it echoes along with this 8-bit-video-game sounding buzz, EVERY NOTE. It's often slightly delayed, and after a second or two, it won't register the notes im hitting and will kind of freeze. Can someone please help me figure this out?

I just want to be able to push record, and practice my part, hearing it play back perfectly and smoothly without buzz, echo, delay, and freezing up. Please.

Windows 8. What version of Pro Tools? Sounds like you have set the buffer size too small. Try 256. Also, try Mini Grand instead of Addictive Keys to see if it still happens

Since you are using the casio as a controller-only, I would go into Midi Studio and remove the midi output path(which might solve midi making a round trip back to the casio and back into PT)

You need to give us more information about your system before we can do more than just guessing. Search for the pinned thread titled "help us help you" and read it.

I just plug my keyboard into the back of my computer, the USB slot. I'm not using an interface
