Default Another one of those 6101 errors on an iMac threads

Hi,

I'm trying to get some more information about the 6101 error in Pro Tools 11. I've searched the forum, the Avid website, searched Reddit, and many other sites. For some reason, I still can't find a solution. I have been getting this error for several months now using two computers. The first was a mid 2010 iMac running PT 11.0-11.3.1 and running from Mavericks to Yosemite. These errors even pop up when simply recording a stereo track with no plugins and a 1024 buffer size. I am even getting them on a new iMac with a 2.9 ghz i5 and clean installs of everything.

I've tried all of the optimizations Avid recommends and even tried turning off spotlight for my system and record drives. Here is a list of what I'm running on the new setup:

Intel iMac with 2.9ghz core i5 running Yosemite with 8gb of ram and an Nvidia GT750 graphics card http://store.apple.com/us/buy-mac/im.../A&step=config

MOTU 828mkIII hybrid (I've tried FireWire and USB on the 2010 iMac and can only use USB on the new one). The software and firmware are both recently updated in hopes of finding a solution.

An Otherworld Computing Mercury Elite Pro hard drive for recording. I've used this as USB and FireWire (on the old iMac). USB only on the new.

The iMac does not have a fusion drive, just a regular spinner that I do not record to. Also, I'm not running any plugins but the stock PT/AIR plugins just to be sure. There aren't even any other plugins on my computer at all now, especially the new iMac.

I have made sure that "Prevent App Nap" is checked.

Again, all the energy saving options are turned off and there is only one user account.

I'm hoping someone else has some insight and maybe this can help another person in the future.

Let me know if you need more information and thanks in advance for any ideas.

EDIT: I forgot to also include some details in my signature, so I'm adding them to the post.

Multiple Systems, all running Pro Tools 11.3

System 1:
2013 iMac with 2.9 GHz Core i5
8 GB RAM
OWC Mercury Elite AL Pro for recording
MOTU 828 MK3

System 2:
2013 iMac with 3.4 GHz Core i7
24 GB RAM
OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual for recording
Avid HD I/O and HD Native Thunderbolt
