Track Presets limitations???

Stereo track to mono track makes sense. You can’t drag a stereo insert to a mono insert either.

But, not sure how the sample rate would be an issue. Is this because you’re using audio on the track preset?

It may have something to do with your interface's drivers. Some third party interface drivers allow a sample rate change from within PT - my RME drivers do - others don't.

Probably not different bit depth either... But I am guessing you can make a set of track presets for each of your most used sample rates
Which is what I do in Session Templates as well

i just tested this Without any Audio on my track presets and it works just fine across different Sample Rates ..

do you people have Audio on the tracks you are making into Track Presets ??

Interesting I should have stated I have not tried it (as I am still on 12.8.1) and was just speculating.
Non the less separate presets for each sample rate would solve the OP's situation.

hi, ok understood .. know this, that i opened a stereo track preset on a mono track, and it works just fine - as expected !! nice surprise !!!

another person i know is looking into it as well .. they found that if there was ANY audio on the track that the Preset was made from, that it was greyed out if the sample rate was not the same .. i will test that today to confirm !!

We're gonna need more specific info as both of these scenarios are working for us here. Now, there are cases where we can't width convert plug-ins from Stereo to Mono (or any other format combination) IF the plug-ins in question are unable to map themselves to the other format, but this would be a plug-in by plug-in issue.

Anyway, can you provide exact steps for how you're encountering these two problems?
