Thanks, but I've never worked with Computer sleep enabled.
It's also never good for PT (HD cards and other AVID hardware being electricaly fed by the computer).

Sad to say, I am still having quite a few problems with 10.2. Some of the crash issues went away, but there are times when it chooses NOT to recognize my 002 - thereby requiring me to save & re-open or even reboot the computer. At times the I/O's change themselves with no prompting. If someone turns on or off electrical appliances on the rooms electric circuit (rooms fans, mic pres, wall lights, etc) it causes PT to crash. It makes me nervous having clients in the studio right now - I never know when it's gonna go belly up & leave me spinning for 15 minutes in front of them while I try to figure out what to do. All in all it is still VERY unstable. And I am on a brand new Mac Pro tower with Quad processors & tons on RAM. I am hoping they can get the fix on it before I am forced to downgrade to PT for survival!

Jim

Yep, I forgot to mention that particular point.
I/O's behaviour is indeed very strange since PT10.
When opening any session, I always get a message saying pathes were made inactive when everything in the I/O panel seems OK.
And, even stranger, some outputs get deactivated from time to time eventhough they're right there in the I/O panel...

I just upgraded... haven't done the patch yet so I am still on 10.2.
New system, new MOTU 896 hybrid, and so far so good and I'm pretty pleased with the performance.

One thing I love... and this feature has probably been around for a while, is the open-recent selection. Click the recent session you want to open and BAM it's open. I love it!!

Launching PT 10.2 is excruciatingly slow though, but I can live with that.

I'm running 10.2 with an HD 6 rig and it works flawlessly.

I upgraded to 10.2 this week and have had 5 crashes so far. I use protools about 12 hours or more a day and can't remember the last time it crashed before I updated. Also not sure if this is a 10.2 issue but I opened a session that I had been editing drums in and all the regions where out of place. I've never had that happen before in any version of PT. I ended up having to start over which was a major time loss.

The crazy thing for me is I've been using Pro Tools since 7.4 and this is the first version I've ever had issues with that I can't live with. Well, other than the white noise burst issue that almost EVERYBODY had back on 8.0.4.

WOW! Did you try the session backups first before starting all over?

Yes. They were all messed up. I'm not totally certain that it was a 10.2 issue, but I've never had that happen before.

Yep, I forgot the HUB thing... I do use one, a Trendnet Green. I've always found it hard to believe that a simple piece of plastic can be better than an another one but that might be a lead.
I've watched closely what's going on: if I turn on the surfaces before turning on the computer and then launch PT, I get a message (Eucon) saying that there's a communication problem and when I open the Eucon prefs, the Control is already being seen ("available" and in the "My Surfaces" column) and the Mix is "available" (which means I have to manually add it).
There's obviously some weakness in the software/firmware(up-to-date) itself too...

Thanks.
