Default Importing clips and media only changes bus I/0

Hi All,
Simple problem. I'm sure there is an easy solution. When importing session data, clips and media only, some of my buses become inactive. My workaround is to open the source session and delete all the I/O. What's causing this? I'm running PT 11.3.2 and OS 10.10.3. Thank you.
