Default Mbox 2 mini (monitoring always on)

I just got the Mbox 2 Mini with Pro Tools 9 but am having trouble figuring something out. When I plug in a microphone to the Mbox, I can hear everything that comes through the Microphone. It's like it is actively monitoring. Previously I had used an M-Audio MobilePre device which does the same, but had a control panel which would allow you to "Mute" the "Monitor Mix", so you wouldn't hear anything through the microphone until you recorded directly from the program.
The Mbox 2 mini does the same thing, but I can't find where to turn that constant monitoring off. Would anyone happen to know? What is the use of always having it monitoring whatever is coming in through the input?

Turn down the MIX knob.

Thanks TCM. Yesterday, I had read that that was how you were supposed to do it, but when I tried the input got louder. Probably because I had the Input 1 dial maxed when I turned the MIX knob off. I'll keep playing around with it.

Thanks.
