Try updating your PACE drivers for Windows XP SP2:
http://www.paceap.com/dldrvr.html

And you can also update to Pro Tools LE 6.4:

Also make sure that any RAID or SCSI controllers built into the motherboard have been disabled from the BIOS.

Hi, I update the pace drivers, installed 6.4 and made sure that Raid and SCSI controllers where disabled. This had no affect on the driver installation which still crashes.

Where, exactly, in the installation of the driver does the installer crash?

Please be as concise as possible in describing the installation steps you're using - this will help to diagnose the problem.

This message pops up:

"The protools installer is now loading Digidesign hardware drivers. This procedure may take several minutes to complete and may cause your computer screen to flash several times"

Along with the windows xp message that the driver has not passed logo testing. Upon clicking continue anyway the computer freezes instantly without any other message and no lights blinking on the mbox device. No mouse movement is possible after this. I have left the computer for about an hour in this state with no change.

If you already have SP2 loaded, did you do the DEP Fix?

yes I followed these instructions as well as disabled the DEP feature previously.

Windows XP SP2, Microsoft DEP and PACE InterLok Drivers Update

* if you encounter unexplained blue screens, freezes or spontaneous reboots when launching Pro Tools with Windows XP Service Pack 2, please update your PACE InterLok drivers:
o Download Current InterLok Drivers
o More information from the PACE website
* The current InterLok drivers solve the described problems without having to disable Microsoft's DEP (Data Execution Prevention) feature introduced with Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Ok, this is the problem i've talked about on the 16. page of "Problems with PTLE? Post your configuration here"....

I've the same problem with Digi002 Rack. I've tried almost everything but nothing changed.

I've also bought the 6.7 version of PTLE to make sure that reason isnot the version. Did not work also.

Also tried to installing the driver only ( dalwyn.sys in the cd), again pc crashed.

And tried disabling everything from the BIOS ( raid, LAN options, sound options and every variation of these ). No change.

At last i've concluded that nforce4 SLI chipset is the problem. I don't know if i'm right or wrong but there's nothing left to try except changing the mainboard.

Does anybody have working PTLE on a nforce4 SLI chipset? Or can anybody from Digidesign tell if nforce4 SLI chipset is compatible or not. On the support page nforce3 is mentioned but there's nothing with nforce4...
