Default Job Hunting

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to ask if there is a certain website all of you may use for finding new clients (Dialogue Edit, SFX Design/Edit, Backgrounds Edit, ADR Recordist/Edit, Foley Recordist/Edit, Mix).

I know that people say cold calling facilities has a pretty low success rate, but I find Craiglist can be pretty bottom of the barrel. I've stumbled upon a cool site (Soundbetter.com), and it seems like it has Post Production potential, but mostly music clientele. Have any of you used it?
Do you have a site that you like to use? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It's all about who knows how much you know and knows what it's like working with you in stressful situations.

Agree with all of the above. I will add though that I am always curious about different sites that pop up, and am on soundbetter myself. It is the only site of these types that has ever actually brought me work, and while it's not a solution on it's own by any stretch of the imagination it does bring me 2-3 days of work a month that I can fit in between other projects on days that would otherwise be dark. It has also introduced me to some new clients that I would not have found otherwise.

Hey Mark!

Thanks for the reply! I signed up for Sound better about 6 months ago. It seems like a great site though I haven't had any work from it yet. Do you subscribe to it? Or are you using the free model?

Subscription - it can take a while to get approved, but it's because they are careful about keeping a good balance between the amount of subscription providers and actual work available.
