Default Looking at buying a used DigiRack 002 on e-bay, but has no

Hi

I have a digirack 002, but was looking at e-bay to buy a used one for my "on the road" rack and to use when I need to go beyond 18 inputs. It doesnt have any software, so I was curious, can you use your existing software to talk to another digi device, or is the codes "locked" to a specific device/unit, and I would have to buy pro-tools LE again?
