Losing USB Connection

Brand new Command 8. Actually this is the second one I got. I've had the same problem with both. Everytime I launch Pro Tools this happens.

While loading the session the USB connection to the command 8 is lost. I can see the USB light go out on the control surface. Once the session is open a message pops up saying that the connection to the command 8 has been lost. If I cycle the power on the command 8 once the session open it will re-connect and maintain the connection reliably.

I've tried both usb ports on the computer, also tried pluging it into a powered usb hub.

2 Gigs RAM
HD 2
(3) 192's
(1) Sync I/O

Which brand of USB powered hub? Some brands are not reliable with PT. Griffin is a brand found to be reliable. (I use the 4 port model UH124Z) Also, I have found that static electricity can be a culprit with losing communication to C|8... during the dry winter months this has been a bit of a problem.

I'm using the I/O Gear four port hub. However. I've tried to use the CI8 without the hub connected and still had the same problem. The static thing I'm not sure about. However it consistently loses the connection when a new session is opened. Once the session is open I re-seat the usb connection and it is fine then on until I open up my next new session.
