Default Remote recording rig, have MacBook Pro (intel) and AD16x. Will 002 work?

Hi guys. I want to record 8 tracks at 96khz into PT LE on location, to bring back to my studio to mix (HD3). I am wondering if I a 002R will let me lightpipe in 8 tracks at 96khz from an AD16x I can yank from my HD rig. Is this the best solution? Will it even work? If not, will a 003r work? I have a MacBook Pro with a FW400 express card slot for the 002 converter set up, and I'll use a glyph connected via the FW800 slot. What do y'all think?

Also, can I use the the Apogee or an an antelope clock?

Thanks,
josh

None of the Digi00x interfaces accept Lightpipe signal above 48kHz. So if you want to use 96kHz I'm afraid you'll either need to use the Digi converters or seek another solution.

You could clock from the Apogee, but you can only send 8 channels of it to the Digi at 44.1/48kHz.

Looks like I'll probably go Logic and look for an interface like a symphony, or perhaps something from MAudio I can lightpipe into. The symphony cards are approx five hundo, which I'm not all that plussed about.

Which version of Pro Tools do you have? You might want to check and see if Pro Tools 9 will work with a Symphony card. If it does and you would prefer to use Pro Tools that would be one way to go. It's not tied to an Avid interface with version 9.

Well it look like the cheapest alternative is to buy an M-Audio light bridge. They can be picked up new $299 I think. Then I can port out of the AD16x into that, then into a FW400 express slot card, into logic. I have already put the pieces in motion to make that happen, so hope it works out. The gig is on Saturday!!
