Default Artist Series and Power Mac G5

Hi,

I am new to the forum and Artist Series.
I have received in a trade for studio time an Avid Artist Control and Artist Mix.
(both black ones...so are the newer versions I believe)

On the box it says "power pc not supported".
Not sure if this means it won't install or means I won't get support from Avid?

Does anyone know if I will have any luck installing and using these with my Power Mac G5 dual processor that I have been running Logic 8 on for several years without issue?

Anyone else using these controllers with an older Mac?
Can you use an older version of the software compatible with an older Mac?

Thanks in advance.
-Tim
