PT 8 M-powered + M-Audio ProjectMix now working together
I am so frekken disappointed because I moved my Pro Tools 8.0 M-Powered and M-Audio ProjectMix I/O from my MacBook Pro 15in on Snow Leopard (with dual core and only 2gb RAM) to my brand new iMac 27 i5 QuadCore + 4gb of Ram and I can't seem to fully complete the installation and worse, my M-Audio ProjectMix I/O will let me plus instruments and hear them thru PT 8 but it is not automated anymore for some reason ...
What Am I doing wrong here ? I also have tons of errors 5000 saying that the plug-ins are not working when I start my PT 8 M-Powered ... Anyone can guide me thru suicide or better yet have any advice for making this work as it did with my MBP ? Thanks sincerely Last edited by Kafrifelle; 03-07-2011 at 10:12 AM. Reason: Bad spe |

Re: PT 8 M-powered + M-Audio ProjectMix now working together
did you use the migration assistant by any chance? Are you running 8.0.4cs2?
1.Do a clean uninstall of pro tools. 2. Install current drivers for project mix 3. install pro tools |

Re: PT 8 M-powered + M-Audio ProjectMix now working together
Hello, no, This is the actual 8.0 Original DVD without any upgrade yet.
If I understand correctly, I would have to install the ProjectMix drivers first and then PT 8 M-Powered ? UPDATE: Ok, I did install the whole thing again from a clean install PMix pilot first, then PT8 ... I still don't get automation (sliders moving) on my Control surface (it's indeed in ProTools mode too). I thought that I would have this working easily, it seems I must be missing a step in configuration though. PT8 Opens fine and lets me create tracks and I can hear the instruments plugged in the PMix. I see that PT 8 sees the PMix as a hardware .... UPDATE #2: I have now updated the PT8 to 8.0.3 still no automation between the ProjectMix and PT 8.0.3 :-( UPDATE #3 I made it work ... I needed to enter the configuration and assign PMix into midi mode. I am a little computer challenged, any help would be appreciate. My iMac is running on OSX 10,6,6 with plenty of RAM. Anybody |

Re: PT 8 M-powered + M-Audio ProjectMix now working together
I just realized you might not have the project mix set up correctly. Follow the steps below.
Make sure the ProjectMix is in Pro Tools mode - NOT HUI mode, which is only for other DAWs - then configure it in the Peripherals>MIDI Controllers window to enable the faders, etc. Then inside pro tools go to preferences and set the following to: Peripherals>MIDI Controllers : #1: Type :HUI Receive From: Project Mix, Control Send To: Project Mix, Control Good luck |

Re: PT 8 M-powered + M-Audio ProjectMix now working together
Hi Tribedercribe,
That is exactly what fixed the problem. When I re installed the new gear on to the new computer, I was under the impression that it would be an automated confid. I was wrong, Thx for the help. |
