Just need some opinions on specific system partitioning and formatting;)

Running Mbox2 mini w P.t. 8.0

This is a new system, been researching , Just want a few opinions.

Formatting and partitioning these drives for optimal performance???

160Gb inter HD,
750Gb inter HD,
500Gb ext firewire HD

Im just curious as to some of the threads I have read already.
One that peaked my interest was, taking an extra HD and partitioning off the very outer portion of the disc to reduce the load and hush the HD.And not quite sure of where I am allowed to store session files so that they will load up without issues.

Well... first off a G5 is not anywhere close to new. 10.5.8 is the lastest OSX version you can use, and PT8.0.1cs2 the latest version of Pro Tools. There are also a lot of plugins and other audio software dropping PPC support. So, bear in mind that your system is antiquated and keep a sharp eye before updating any software as it may not be compatible with your Mac.

At those drive sizes, I really wouldn't worry about creating fancy partitions. Just leave them as full drives.

For PPC, you want Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with Apple Partition Map as your format.
