Click Track Set-up in M-powered 6.8
Back to this question again - I m about to give up. I can't the digirack click to work in my 6.8. I tried to follow the instructions in the Ref guide on page 148 - 149 but it did nt work - maybe it doesnt apply to 6.8? I don't use midi either - and the Click stuff is under the Midi category on the top bar. (midi>click options) Has anyone gotten a Click to work in M-powered w/o hooking up midi equipment? Is there such a thing as a non-midi click here? thank you., D

Re: Click Track Set-up in M-powered 6.8
In 6.8, all you have to do is insert the click plugin on an aux track.

Re: Click Track Set-up in M-powered 6.8
hey thx Spkguitar. So it will work once I figure out how to set up Aux track? I ve never worked with busses, auxs or sends before so I m real clumsy with this. The instructions are vague for a low-intermediate home engineer like me. I tried following instructions in ref guide - didnt work (pg 148) - i ll try again tonite. BTW - the midi>click options - why is it under Midi? is this click a midi sound? I dont get it. This is a plug-in that came with 6.8 and should work with no special midi hardware connected to the computer I assume.

Re: Click Track Set-up in M-powered 6.8
Setting up an aux track is just like setting up an audio track. You just select aux track instead of audio track when creating a track.
Inserting the click plugin is the same as inserting any other plugin on a track. You would just select it from the list of plugins available on the inserts list. The click in Pro Tools is driven by the MIDI beat clock. Before the click plugin was invented, most click tracks were created by a MIDI instrument. You can still do it that way, but these days it is unnecessary. It's been a very long time since I used MPowered 6.8, so I'm a little unfamiliar with which Reference Guide is being referenced. I'm also curious as to why you're still using 6.8 when the upgrade to 7.1 was (and still is) free and available from the M-Audio website. Upgrading the the current version (7.3) would require you to purchase it, but 7.1 would definitely be a step up from 6.8, and it's free. There are also plenty of tutorial materials on this subject, including one on my tutorials pages.
