ProjectMix channel strips not working
After I use Pro Tools, the channel strips on my ProjectMix lock, and the LCD text becomes jumbled, as if the board can't communicate or something. Has anyone else had this problem? And what have you done to fix it?

Re: ProjectMix channel strips not working
I had/have a similar issue with my projectMix I/O. When I loaded a new session, only some of the faders would slide into position. Usually the far left two would not, however once I adjusted them either manually or from the mouse on the corresponding fader within the gui, they moved into place. Very odd. I also noticed that when it first initializes there only broken bars under some of the channels strips, while the others are blank. Again, quite odd and not at all something I experienced before the 7.3/7.3.1 upgrade.

Re: ProjectMix channel strips not working
Please start with the steps in the OS X Setup and General Troubleshooting sticky at the top of this forum, specifically those areas on trashing preferences and let us know if that helps at all.

Re: ProjectMix channel strips not working
I didn't even upgrade. It started happening when I moved to OSX. I'm assuming it's just the board, cause the computer's been pretty much nothing but great. I got in touch with M-Audio, and got ZERO help from them. I guess it's back to the drawing board.

Re: ProjectMix channel strips not working
After I check all of my configurations, I still having problems, nothing chance, and I notice that tight now hta Protools M Audio 7.3.1 is pretty much using all of my processor's capacity, when I try to load a song its takes forever, the Project I/O Mix is not correponding to whatever channels I have in protols, channels that I am not using at all opens in the board and the volume increases it self.
I already upgrade my driver at M Audio website, the lastest upgrade for this hardware is the version 1.8.1v3 from 12/15/2006, witch I already did. Also when I close protools now, after waiting a long time for the system to do that I heard somes clicks and the channel strips do not go back to the original position on the Project I/O Mix. The screen in the board its all messed up. Please, any insight???? At this point I do not know what else to do! thanx |

Re: ProjectMix channel strips not working
I wish i could help but i am having the exact same issues as you. The weird thing is...that the ProjectMix works GREAT with the other apps, like live and cubase...but somehow is completely unstable and in my opinion UNUSEABLE with Pro Tools M-ppowered. No matter what version, what driver...there has always been some compromise.
It is a nice piece of hardware but the OSx drivers just aren't cutting it....I have had an open ticket on the m-audio support site for about a year....all they can tell me is to trash preferences, reinstall, try a different firewire cable (my personal favorite) yada yada....then blame it on some other piece of equipment that is connected to my mac. It doesn't seem to register to them when I say that IT ONLY HAPPENS WITH PRO TOOLS. Lotsa driver updates, still no good drivers. I hope this gets sorted one day. -Matt |

Re: ProjectMix channel strips not working
I have trashed the prefs numerous times, repaired permissions, etc....it doesn't help these nagging problems. I empathize with the other posters.

Re: ProjectMix channel strips not working
I am also having issues with the LCD display on the channel faders since updating to PT 7.3 and 7.3.1
last week. 1) I have excecuted the Digi recommended trashing of pref in the troubleshooting guide. This does not solve the issue. 2) there is an update to the Maudio driver for the projmix 1.8.1v3 released in dec 2006 I have installed this driver, This does not solve the issue. 3) I have made sure that the perpheral prefs are set to the hui>projectmix in the midi options The problem as I see it is a couple of things: A) when opening a session, the faders do not label themselves correctly. This happens intermittantly. B) when opening a session, the faders do not jump to their respective positions as set in the session. C) after experiencing B) when clicking an individual track, the faders jump to the correct position as the projmix has been updated with the information for that specific track, the session performs as normal from this point forward. D) similar actions occur for the labeling when clicking on an individual track, it updates the projectmix screen to the correct labeling... This seems to indicate the initial send of information to the projectmix to define the fader labeling and the fader position is not being sent correctly to initialize the projmix. E) When closing a session, ALL the faders are stuck in the positions left during the session... This happens intermittantly... F) Sometimes SOME of the faders jump down to the lowest setting and SOME of faders stay in the position left during the session G) Labeling is usually blanked out to underscores "_______" but sometimes they do not. There is some change since 7.1.1, where when a session was closed all labeling changed to underscores and the faders jumped down to the lowest setting of the fader... since the 7.3 update and the projmix driver update, these inconsistencies have been occurring for me. The initialization of the faders and labeling back to the default positions does not seem to work as it did in 7.1.x I was planning to send something to Digi Tech Support, but hopefully this helps others concur with what seems to be bugs since the 7.3 release. Cheers, EBC
