"AAE error - 536870192 was encountered"

Has anyone else seen this error? I'm told by Avid is a very rare error and can't figure it out.

When does it occur?

Can you recreate this error? Or does it happen randomly?

Sorry for such little information...

It just boggled me that it was such a "rare" error according to Avid so I posted the question here to see if at least someone has seen it.

I'll be deleting preferences, etc and doing a couple of tests and see what happens, but still here it goes, in case someone can shed some light.

The error happens during playback when using instrument tracks. Playback stops and it shows the error. H/W Buffer has been at max and it still happens.

I have an iMac Retina late 2015, 4.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7. 40GB of RAM.

I doubt that it's related to computer resources given my specs and given the fact that it has happened with only a couple of tracks.

Interestingly it started happening some time after installing the new Mbox Mini Drivers... But I'm not sure it's related...

I'm using NI Komplete Kontrol software and instruments. Also Play engine and Eastwest libraries.

I do know Eastwest (especially Hollywood series) asks for a lot of resources and all that, and I'm using VE Pro 5 for the big sessions. Still the error pops in randomly even while using VE Pro.

All my sounds are on external SSDs through thunderbolt 2.

Avid asked me to recreate the error while using only Avid plug ins... I'll be doing that and see what happens.

Any thoughts?

Are you on El Cap? If so, which version?

If you're using the Mbox Mini (ver. 3 right!?) Does the error occur when using your on-board audio (iMac)?

El Cap 10.11.1

Mbox Mini 3

I haven't been able to replicate the error using on-board audio

Did you try going back to earlier interface drivers?

Earlier Mbox Mini 3 drivers don't work on El Capitan at all. They just released these drivers on January. Before that the Mbox Mini was completely useless for Pro Tools on El Capitan.

I just started getting it, too. On a Mac Pro 6 core running El Cap 10.11.2, also Mbox Mini 32d Gen. Pro Tools 12, running only audio tracks.

The only thing that's changed from pre-error state (that I know of) is that I installed an Apple patch that Waves tech support sent me b/c, in their words, "Apple has silently pushed an update which stopped some Ethernet adapters from working - worldwide. Apple has since pulled this update from their servers." This was on 2/28. I installed the patch and my Waves plugs came back but, with this error stops that stops playback randomly every hour or so.

Anybody made any progress on tracking it down?
