Default SOLVED: DYLD shared region unnest,PT11.0.2 Crashing unexpectedly after plug-ins load

Hello everyone, and thanks in advance for any help or tips you may have.

I recently did a clean install of Mountain Lion (10.8.5), and PT 11.0.2 crashes unexpectedly after loading all plug-ins.

Console reads as follows:

11/24/13 5:51:58.929 PM Dock[219] no information back from LS about running process

11/24/13 5:52:10.000 PM kernel[0] Pro Tools (map: 0xffffff802d32c9f8) triggered DYLD shared region unnest for map: 0xffffff802d32c9f8, region 0x7fff8c200000->0x7fff8c400000. While not abnormal for debuggers, this increases system memory footprint until the target exits.

11/24/13 5:52:12.641 PM com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[206] ([0x0-0x55055].com.avid.ProTools[458]) Exited with code: 5

11/24/13 5:52:12.740 PM Crash Reporter[466] Unknown class LengthLimitingTextView in Interface Builder file at path /Applications/Pro Tools.app/Contents/Frameworks/Crash Reporter.app/Contents/Resources/Breakpad.nib.

Right now I have only the stock plug-ins, and this was a fresh install of PT. It loads until the last plug-in, in this case Vari-Fi (before getting rid of all plugs it was Xpand!2), then crashes unexpectedly.

I've tried clearing the DYLD cache via OnyX, have tried booting in Safe mode (to clear the cache that way), and have also tried this terminal command:

sudo update_dyld_shared_cache -force

I tried all of these before and after re-installing Mountain Lion (not erase/install, just reinstall of OS)

Being that I'm not really a techie, I was hoping maybe someone has seen this before and that I won't need to wipe my system drive and reinstall everything all over again. Searching here and on google hasn't yielded much.

Thanks,

Chris

Default Re: DYLD shared region unnest, PT 11.0.2 Crashing unexpectedly after plug-ins load

As it turns out, the program Razer Synapse 2.0, for programming razer mouses was the culprit.

I figured it out after following some instructions I found on the Apple support forums. After running through some terminal commands and seeing Razer come up, I simply uninstalled it. Otherwise I would have had no idea.

So, if anyone else ever has this problem, and also has razer synapse, now you know
