unpredictable blasts of loud noise!!

Ever since I moved to 6.9. I had problems scarying the be-jeebies out of me. In addition to making me prone to hearing loss. Its very annoying and making the recording process in protools less enjoyable when it happens. Does anybody else experience this anomoly? No problems when I had 6.4 or 6.7.

No just editing my mix. Like when I cut and paste or mute parts. Nothing extraordinary. Just a rough mix. and BOOM! Even when I have no plug ins. Just a explosion of sound.

The only time I have heard this happen is when I tried to use PTLE with a USB connected
Hard Drive...

I really don't now exactly what are you talking about. But I had one noise event, too while using the t-racks EQ.

Do you have an m-box?My friend had the same thing,tried all tweaks and suggested 'digi' tweaks,no luck.Maybe go back to 6.7,Antz

I had this on one session.

I narrowed it down to one offending track. Nothing weird in the track's region.

I copied the region, pasted it to a new track deleted the old track and voila no noise.

I`ve been experiencing that problem for a couple of months now, i think that is hard Drive related (We are talking about NOT CORRUPTED Sessions)I Have an emachines Laptop with a 4200rpm HD, when i Work in sessions at 24bits/ 48 Khz the problem increases ( Compared to 24 / 44.1).

The noise shows up when i press PLAY!! just the first time in a short period of time.
