Just always remember: a digital system may only have one Clock Master and all other digitally connected boxes need to be avle to lock to that clock. ADAT and AES dwliver clock with it but obviously only to the direction audio stream is going. That is why most pro boxes have WordClock i/o to distribute that common clock.

Because 002 does not have WC your only option is set your ADAT box be Clock Master and have 002 sync to external clock that comes in from your ADAT feed.

Not your problem right now, but just to educate you.. if you wish to use two extra channels of SPDIF you need a box that has both SPDIF in and out and connect to 002 with both cables. Like a digital reverb. When you have connected SPDIF both ways and set the external reverb box to lock to external clock (which would now come from 002 because the clock travels in the direction of audio stream) you can use that box as hardware insert.

The U-PHORIA UMC1820 does NOT operate as an ADAT expansion module, only as a primary I/O interface. It does not offer that capability. The ADAT ports operate fine as expansion ports to the 1820, but the 1820 must be the primary I/O.

Which means both boxes need their own computer and DAW to operate
