Default My factory Loops are Missing

When I installed Pro Tools SE I received the following error message during installation:

Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)

E:\Loops

C:\Program Files (x86)\Digidesign\Pro Tools\Loops

I clicked OK, the software installed and works, however when I attempt to insert a loop into a project, the factory loops folder is empty.

Can anyone help with this?

I attempted to "modify" installation from the PTSE CD, that didn't work, also tried to "repair" and the same error message was received during the repair process.

Thanks.

Hello,

I am a member too. Try uninstalling and re-installing if you haven't yet.

Hope this helps,

Thanks very much! I did the reinstall and now I have loops. Not sure if I have all of them though because I got the same error message. The only factory loops I see are in the "dance and DJ" folder. Should I have more?

Hello,

Yes you should have more loops. When you are in SE and you click on the Loops icon you should see various categories which you can drag and drop into your track. You might try the FAQ area of the forum, google or youTube.
I know I have seen how to videos for SE on youTube concerning loops. Also,
someone from Avid that is more tech savy may reply to help.

Dcader 10, thanks for taking time to help. I'm attempting a second round of running the repair module off of the CD. I'll circle back if it works, if not I'll wait for an admin to help.

On my destkop I also got that Data Error (cyclic redundancy check).

I took my latop and copied the whole CD to my hard disk en then copied that folder from my laptop to my desktop and installed Pro tools without problems.

Default Re: My factory Loops are STILL Missing

Thanks for the help everyone. I've taken the recommended steps and have not solved the problem. I even tried to copy the loop files directly from the CD to my desktop, then tried copying the entire CD to my desktop and none of these solved the problem. I've installed/uninstalled/reinstalled the software about a half a dozen times and cant get the loops to install.

Seems to me like my CD is defective.

Would a moderator please reply to my thread? I would like to either get a new CD or download the software.

Thanks again very much for your help, fellow-members. Wish me luck!

If you have another computer you could try to copy the whole CD to the harddisk there.
You could also go back to the store where you got the CD from and complain.

Thanks Bulgozer! I followed your instructions and finally got my loops on board. Can't thank you enough for your help. Dcader10, thanks to you too for helping out. I hope to get the opportunity to help someone else along the way once I graduate from novice status.
