New Windows System: Need Feedback!
Hey users, I know you probably hate these questions alot, but I have been researching for a while and I am really confused on what system to upgrade to!
I currently have this HP Laptop(AMD E-300 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 1.3 GHz, 4GB RAM, and 500 GB Hard Drive) PRO TOOLS 10 HD IT is an absolutely terrible computer and I can only put on about 3 or 4 VSTs before the driver cant handle anything more. I need a really good windows computer(desktop) that can handle tons and tons of audio effects and VST's, because I plan on mixing/producing professionally and I realllly don't know what to get. Sorry once again if this is irritating, but I really appreciate any suggestions I can get. You all rock :) Last edited by jteaguemusic; 06-03-2015 at 10:31 PM. Reason: forgot word |

These days, I would avoid AMD...period. My system(see signature) may be technically considered "old", but it runs 11HDN like a train. 60+ audio tracks, a dozen AUX tracks, several VI's, tons of plugins, at the 64 buffer. If you want to buy something made, this is a great source:

Another off-the-shelf item, you can find a used Z800 for a great price (12-core Xeon for around $1500). One thing that impressed me about these machines was not only the build quality, but the heatsink is really good - it's a quiet machine. I worked with a 12-core Z820 awhile back, and it was an absolute beast.
