Right-angle Lightning cable
From the user guide:
After you have installed the Control app and connected it to your network, place your iPad in the stand built into the Dock. The Dock comes with an iPad Mini Riser pre-installed which increases the viewing angle for iPad Mini and also accommodates iPad Air. If using an iPad Air, use a right-angle Lightning cable to keep the cable clear of the knobs. The iPad Mini Riser can be removed if not needed. Are right-angle Lightning cables available and, if so, are they Apple-approved - non-approved Lightning are famously prone to problems due to the way that Apple have designed/engineered? |

Re: Right-angle Lightning cable
Griffin tech makes them...
https://griffintechnology.com/us/10-...-for-multidock Are they "Apple approved"??? No idea, but griffin is a pretty major supporter of Apple products... IHTH.

Thanks docric - these only seem to come in $190 10-packs. Hopefully, Avid is aware of any potential issue for users of iPad Air-sized devices?! |

Re: Right-angle Lightning cable
I noticed the U.G. specified that for the iPad Air we need the right angle lightning cable. Does that mean the iPad Air 2 does not need the right angle cable?
I really wish I could see one a Dock but the first time I see one may be when I purchase one. Andy |

Re: Right-angle Lightning cable
You're going to want the right-angle cable. I'm using the iPad2.

Re: Right-angle Lightning cable
Also, most of those right angle cables come out perpendicular to the edge of the connector, and still cause interference if you're using a bigger iPad, like I am. They hang up on the sides of the Dock's frame where the rotary encoders are located.
Just found this one: BAD-ELF that is perp to the flat side of the connector... ... Possibly it'll help the cable to not hang up on the edge of the Dock b/c it's directed towards the rear of the iPad. However, I still think the length of the Lightning connector itself is going to "snag" on the frame of the Dock with a larger iPad... We'll see... One's on the way... But at 24.99 + s/h, it ain't cheap, either...

Re: Right-angle Lightning cable
Isn't there a notch on either side to accommodate the cable?

Re: Right-angle Lightning cable
You would think so, but no.. Really weird. It should definitely have shipped with a cable that works. The PT Control app drains iPad battery like crazy
