They did it a few days ago, at least Steinberg did it with Cubase and Nuendo. It's like they had information from inside. Avid, beware you have a mole!

Someone over on GS contacted Sweetwater and was informed that there is a cap of 3 renewals max
That would give you your 5 years though

untill now I thought Avid was barely bearable.... but now this is an absurd punishment for loyal perpetual customers that have paid for yearly support and update plans
AND they have not fullfiled their promises about continous development since they started all this suscription thing.

Too bad!

Think about that too!
Cheers!
AND...

PT at $199 divided by 365 days is $.545 per day divided by 24 hours is $.0227 per hour OR .02 Euros.

So much for PT not being competitively priced.

Default ProTools price adjustments from July 1st.

I ran PT 9 on a 2007 iMac with Snow Leopard and a OG Apogee Duet and got serious work done. Didn’t upgrade till PT 12. I can freeze up again.

You would need Ultimate to get what Logic and Cubase offer: no limited voices, surround, and as much i/o as you can pay for from any audio interface manufacturer. Even more i/o than the future HDX6 system can do.

So, no, PT is not even close to being competitively priced.

That’s what I have been thinking..... sheezz it costs nearly that much for three annual Xbox live subscriptions. Don’t remember myself thinking or whining too much about that.
