Default Protools Crashing

Hello. I recently installed 10.5.4 to my mac book pro and this was very painful.. Now I'm running 10.5.5.
Anyway I now have PT 7.4.2. I also installed crs2. I think I did it twice by accident. Im sure I did.
I upgraded all my plugins. Finally everything seems to be working fine. Then this morning PT tools kept crashing after a few minutes.
The msg, "this application quit unexpectedly" appeared and ask do I want to send a report to apple.
It's gotten to the point that if I close out of a session PT crashes. I need Urgent help!!!!! I cant get any work done lost some money today!!! Thanks!

What 3rd party plug-ins are you using? It's probably due to an incompatible plug-in being installed, however if you post back with the rest of your system specs we'll be able to help more knowing what you're working with.

Here is a list of third party plugins:

1. Waves-Diamond bundle, ssl bundle, LL 16 bundle.
2.Izotope- ozone 3
3.celemony- melodyne studio, plug-in & bridge.

I did up date melodyne with the leo plugins update.
I went to waves and got updated to 6.0.5.

System spec's

Processor 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo
Memory 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores:2
L2 Cache: 2 MB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Version 10.5.5

P.S.Last night I down loaded the InteCombo update for 10.5.5 and so far so good. Keeping my fingers crossed.

did you uninstall any previous version of Pro Tools, such as 7.4 before installing 7.4.2? Why was 10.5.4 having issues? My guess is that it wasn't 10.5.4 that was causing the issues, but like Slim said, bad plugins. Try moving all your plugins to the unused folder and see how things run. You can always do a clean Uninstall of Pro Tools, re-download 7.4.2 and start over.

Well I had to reinstall PT all together because when I tried to update to leopard it wiped out everything. I had to reinstall plug ins. I did do updates on the ones listed above. Me going to 10.5.5 was by mistake.
To be honest I would really love to avoid uninstalling anything and reinstalling. The process is such a headache to me.

so you did Erase and Install instead of Update for Leopard? To be honest that's not a bad thing because you cleaned up your drive, but hopefully you had things backed up...

Re-installing Pro Tools will not wipe out your plugins or anything else for that matter. You use the Uninstaller that came with PT 7.4.2 and uninstall, then re-install 7.4.2. Your plugin's folder will stay intact. Then if all is well you will know it was a software issue, and if it is still acting up then you will have to check you plugins one at a time. It only takes one bad plugin in the folder to reek havoc, even if the plugin isn't being used.

Thanks for those jewels OddsAre!!!

So what your saying if I use 7.4.2 uninstall, when I reinstall jump straight to 7.4.2 or start at 7.4.

Anyhow I going to keep that locked in my rusty brain, but for now it seems as if the 10.5.5 intel combo update did the trick. Lets see what happens in the future.
Just cant wait for the PT * to come in the mail. Hope no Glitches there.
Peace!!!!

Jump straight to 7.4.2, it is a FULL installer. DO NOT reinstall 7.4.
