Kontakt Player only Records when its own track is selected..Help!

Can someone help me, here's my situation:

Peripherals:
Rec from: MPK261 (keyboard), Send to: Kontakt 5 MIDI in1

I make a stereo Instrument track
I assign Kontakt player to the insert
Output is the same as all other tracks
The signal comes fine through the keyboard and records...but...

Now even if I just select a different track, the Intstrument track stops recording and the disarms the record function. Can someone help me figure out how i can keep this recording and still select different tracks?

2 thing that may help here:
#1-don't select tracks while recording
#2-if you want to record more than 1 instrument/midi track at the same time, You have to record-enable them at the same time(with a single command). IIRC, it might be the Option key(option-click the record button on an Instrument track and that will record-enable all Instrument tracks). OR, it might be highlight the tracks you want and then hold Shift+Option+click on the record button(this is the idea anyway, but I'm a Windows user so I ight be thinking the wrong modifier key)

Thanks Dave, I applied some of your advice here. This is what I came up with:
(At this time I only wanted to record 1 Instrument track)

I inserted the Kontakt player on the Instrument track like before, but like you said, I didn't arm it for record.

I sent the output of the Instrument Track to a buss (1,2).

Then I made an Audio Track and set the Input to accept the 'buss 1,2' (signal from the Instrument Track), and armed the Audio Track to record.

The drawback to this of course is the Instrument Track gets reproduced as a destructable wav, but I'm not really concerned about editing the MIDI data anyhow...I just want the piano tones.

Also, while its being recorded, the Instrument Track data (in this case, piano), does not get written to the track, but does create the same audio information onto the wav (audio) track as the piano keyboard is being played in real time.

Still don't know why the initial situation exists, but this way seems to be effective for me. Thanks again Dave.

It might be easier for you to just record the part directly on the instrument track, or on a midi track pointed to the instrument track. When you have the way you want it, then just use commit to create the audio track. That way you can edit the MIDI to get the audio exactly how you want it.
