Default Pro Tools regularly freezing and Not Responding'

The avid site is super messed up. I had to make this post in two replies. Kept getting error:

Access Denied You don't have permission to access "http://duc.avid.com/newthread.php?" on this server. Reference #18.37f00f17.1616287009.5c73989

I have PT 11 2020 normal $599 version and 12 2020 ultimate. These are both on different computers I am using win10 x64. 9900k on one comp OC to 4.7Ghz and a 9700k on the other OC to 4.5 or so. Both have 32gb ram. On both computer PT goes to "not responding" every few seconds. No matter what I do. If I add a track add a plugin. Change something on ANY menu. Just anything.

This happens 2 or 4 times per minute on BOTH computers. I had a older version of PT 05 2020 or so and everything was working fine. My Win10 is up to date on both computers. I have a feeling this is something stupid like a win10 update or something that just needs rolling back or something. But I have no idea what to do.

Very first thing you need to know is PT is known to be very fragile. Not like normal applications where you think; I better update OS and plugins and everything, and things will work again. Quite the opposite.

The way to build a stable PT computer setup is 'slowly' installing, checking, backing up, installing and checking again. Always having a way back via restore. PT is an old lady. You try to not upset her.

Yeah, I have heard that. I used Nuendo for most projects. Just use PT when I have to and hate every minute when I am doing that. Any suggestions on where to start when the not responding error?

I'm sorry. I have no idea.
My guess is that it's pretty serious. When a process or application is not responding, it's a sign that the whole PC is not working as it should. Could be anything.
Start from scratch

It is weird that it is exactly the same on both computers. But yet every other program on both computers works perfectly fine with no errors.

Need some detailed system info. See “help us help you” at the top of the page and post SANDRA reports.

Check OneDrive settings. It must be set to NOT synchronize to cloud.

Here OD was default set to sync desktop and documents folder to cloud. Whenever I or PT touched anything therein PC just stalled.

Perhaps a recent W10 update changed OD settings.

I managed to uninstall OD here.
