Default Rotary Encoders randomly going into write

hello: i've been having an intermittent problem over the last few months where random rotary encoders will going into write as though they've been touched. This isn't happening on the main unit, but on the fader packs on either side. Going into the utility mode shows the offending encoder as being red. When in utility mode, i've noticed that the encoders will go into write when i lean on the center section (i.e. put my elbows on the rubber strip to gaze at pt8s new interface).... Power cycling the bucket usually helps, but not always... sometimes it takes a few cycles. Anyone seen anything like this? any ideas? thanks....

well the problem seems to be narrowed down to a few select encoders (~four)... has anyone else had issues with encoders going into write on their own? any suggestions? i've tried trashing prefs/resetting the firmware, etc etc...

..Just a long shot, but your not running Waves plugin in your session? I know there's a major problem with Waves plugins writing unwanted automation continously.

I was going to suggest the same thing re Waves plugins. On some of their plugs only, when their GUI is open and you're in latch, they will start writing as if you've touched something (when you haven't).

This drives me insane and forces me to close the GUIs when I don't want to.

There have also been bugs in URS plugins where they will overwrite any switched controls whenever you are in latch. It's pretty easy to recreate it.
