Default PT 12.8 First Reactions

I moved the folder from my HD to an external one, I can find the loops all is good except I can't preview the loops while whatever I have recorded is playing. I want to hear the samples to see if it'll fit but I can't. Is this happening to anyone else? I have an Apollo 8 Quad UAD2 with Thunderbolt 44.1 24 bit and I'm also getting "the audio can't be pulled fast enough..." error at 128 sample rate! It is crippling as I can't record anything live in ProTools because of hiccups it messes up the moment. This has been going on for years. I'm using a MBP mid 2014 quad core i7 for god sakes. Let's do some math here ok?

MBP $2000
UAD Apollo 8 Quad $2400
PT 8 to 12.8 (yeah, add that up and that's how much money I've paid Avid on software and I'm a working class citizen)
iLok $50 (because it isn't enough to pay for the software, now I'm getting taxed to open the thing) f me right?
Add on hard drives, cables, etc, etc... Over the course of 6 years I've dumped over $30,000 trying to run this smoothly updating hardware and software. JUST TO RUN VANILLA!!!

I should've put that money on a house. How can you sell this to people? Now I have to renew my plan. For what? It hasn't run right in 6 years.

If anyone on Avid's payroll is reading this, wth?

Come on guys, I stopped waiting for christ to come and he promised eternal salvation for free! Why should I give you my money? Garage Band on my iPhone works smoother than this.

On the surface, you guys (Avid) sound good, promise a lot, world standard this, top echelon that. Huge claims for a company closing at 5.25

Your webpage claims compatibility with certain systems and what not... Lies, I've always been "compatible" with the hardware and software and all the problems that are not supposed to be happening happen.

Before anyone says "PT 12.8 not supported yet on Sierra" PT 12.7 was and never ran right, nor did any version before that. I'm no lawyer but something isn't right here. (What you claim your product delivers, and what it actually does are two different things).

People at Avid, if you have no real solutions feel free to just keep on scrolling. Don't copy paste the troubleshoot section because it's been done, tested, and failed.

I know this is just me typing away into oblivion since it's pretty obvious that this forum is equivalent to a retirement home where people that don't pay the support plan have their issues posted just to fade away into the 1's and 0's. Just like this company's imminent end. It's been a steady downward trajectory since '05 for this company.

I hope you read this and feel just as I do.

Shame on you

Good night.

On the contrary, for most 12.8 has worked very well. What is in your system that needs to be troubleshooted? Please take a look at the Help Us Help You document that is linked to the forum header...

Agreed! I've been running 12.8 for 48 hours and not a glitch or crash.

I'm very happy to hear positive things. A lot of good people worked very hard on this.
