Default Pro tools LE won\'t run on laptop and XP

Hello,

My pro tools 6.7LE/m box won't run on my 2.8ghz laptop!? it used to run fine with 6.4, but i have installed 6.7 from CD and i am getting error messages...

first error message says "audio processing is in conflict with other CPU tasks, try reducing the HW buffer size -9129" i reduce the buffer size! and then get this message.... "the operating system held off interupts far too long, try increasing the buffer size"

I have tried all buffer sizes and have tried DAE buffer size!!

This even happens with an empty song with no audio playing!!!!!!!

I have uninstalled from CD and installed again with no difference!! i desperately need to get this system to work!!!

any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Chris

Chris tell us your specs including version of XP you are using.
Haven't seen this issue yet. In the meantime you may want to have a dual boot system with PTLE 6.4 on one.

Hello,

I am not running SP2 only SP1 has been installed! i am running XP home edition. This system was running fine on 6.4 but i upgraded to 6.7 a few weeks ago and this is the first time i have actually tried to run a song since the install!!

I have uninstalled from the 6.7 CD and done a fresh install, but no difference, it still won't run longer than 10-15 seconds before error messages.

I have tried turning off Norton anti virus and firewall.

The only thing I can come up with is the ram requirement for PTLE 6.7 is 1GB. I'd give that a try first.
