Default Any app for sending QT Movies to Firewire outside of PT?

Hi there,

When not in PT, it would sometimes be handy to be able to send any video to the firewire canopus bus to the TV. In the old days I think Echofire could do this but I haven't had much luck. I found something called SimpleVideoOut, but that no longer works either. The point of these was they could stream any kind of .mov, avi, mp4 file directly without prior compression.

Does anything like this exist now, without having to use iMovie or FCP?

Thanks!
Joel

How so? I haven't seen any "Firewire Video Out" option in any menu in QT Pro, as there is in PT.

Thanks!

Even in Leopard? Can't seem to get Echofire to work any more. Will get in touch with the company.

Many thanks

Yeah I noticed that! I've reached out to Erica Sadun, a computer genius who first wrote about SimpleVideoOut, to see if she knows of a viable alternative. It would be great to just send any video out of the Canopus to the TV without having to convert to DV. I know it can be done.

Thanks guys.
