Default Please Help Me

HI everyone
I have the hardest time setting up ProTools on my PC (on XP home Ed sp3). (yeah yeah switch to Mac...i know ...)
First i have to say that my setup was working fine the first time around (with quite a few [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep] ups at the beginning though). I had a Hard disk failure and re-installed completely my system with a brand-new hard disk.
The Problem is:
I use the Setup CD for protools, everything works fine but when it's done and I try to launch it, the sytem crashes and starts again. Then "serious error has occured" pops up...
I have already...
1-made the 6.4cs9 update
2-set the preferences to run background applications in priority
3-tried black AND white magic to sort it out.
PLEASE HELP ME OUT THANKS
