Default [PT 12.8.2] Crashing, Not responding, Ridiculously Slow

Hi,

I'm having a bit of trouble with ProTools 12.8.2, constantly crashing, going into not responding and if it does decide to work being ridiculously slow. The one time where I did get it to work, I tried opening up the video playback engine and got a not enough CPU power error.
I've gone through the windows 10 troubleshooting and optimisation guide and done a new install of Pro Tools (Used Trasher to clean up any leftover files also). I've also tried the windows comparability mode which just freezes it on startup and needs task manager to close it.
If anyone could help shed some light on this that would be great as I've got university work that needs pro tools.

Specs:
Win 10 Pro
i7 7700k @4.8GHz (Stable)
16GB DDR4 @ 2133MHz
Running from a 500GB WD M.2 SSD
1080Ti GPU (Not that that should matter?)

All drivers are up to date including CPU, GPU, Avid and iLok.

How did you load your quicktime driver?

What chipset is your 7700k running on? and what MOBO?

has it ever worked? what version did you have prior to 12.8.2?

Did that work?

I had no issues with video on PT12.5.1 and Win10Pro.

the rest of my setup is in my sig.

Make sure there's no disc on the DVD drive.

The QT driver was loaded when I imported a video into PT. Its running on the Z270 chipset on an Asus Z270-P. It worked on previous versions, 12.8.1 (I think it worked on 12.8.2 however I did a complete system wipe a few weeks back and changed from my SATA SSD to my M.2 so I think that may be the problem? (No idea why it would be)). And I don't have a disc drive so no there wasn't a DVD in. When starting up PT the regular startup seems fine but when it comes to initialising controllers thats when it comes up as not responding. I've deleted my prefs file and unplugged my midi keyboard to see if that might be interfering but no luck with that either.

QT has to be a separate install, at least that’s the way it’s always has been.

My M.2 drive works fine for Video, but I have the X99 chipset.

Not running well when the video engine is used “or” not running well when you are running pure audio tracks?

You must understand to get at the problem you have to parse things down to the lowest common denominator

As said in the original post, 90% of the time I can't even load pro tools without it crashing/going into not responding after the initial startup (Loading plugins, interfaces etc.)

The slow dribble of information here is not the way to get yourself help.

When did this start happening? Did it ever work OK? On what Pro Tools release? Where is your Sandra report?

There is a whole lot of things to try troubleshooting under "Help us Help You" up top of each DUC page, you only seem to have tried some of them, but not all? And *always* suspect plugins, you don't seem to have tried removing them yet. And uninstall any floppy drives in Windows device manager (yes even if you don't gave any floppy drives) and remove any optical discs from drives...

When you post again, include a clear list of exactly what you have tried, and a Sandra report and the other information.

And include what interface are you running and what driver version (not that you think it's up to date, what actual version shown in device manager).

It started happening after I re-installed windows (Complete HDD wipe and reinstall), it worked fine previously with 12.8.2 and 12.8.1 before the re-install of windows. I've removed all plugins, Avid, Air, Slate etc (Uninstalled via add or remove programs).

I unplugged all unnecessary USB devices (Midi keyboard, Controllers etc).
I've gone though device manager and made sure Floppy Drives are uninstalled and there's no optical drive for a disc to be in.
