Default WAV File Corruption/ incompatibility with ProTools?

HI all -

We are experienceing some incompatibilities and corruptions within audio files used for File delivery. Wondering what techniques people are using to try to resolve these issues:

A) Often we'll receive a .wav file that can be played back within iTunes or QT, we can convert the file there, re-export. The file will be OK to use with PT

B) Other times, the file can only be seen by FCPro or Rosette, and not by iTunes or QT Pro.

Wondering what caused these corruptions.. I've seen some indication regarding network transfers (These are all transferred via network at some point).

Lastly, is there any application or other workarounds that works well? iTUnes can be a bit klunky, and QTPro isn't a batch type operation.

systems in use are Dual Proc G5's, PT 7.2 HD2 Accel, MAC OSX 10.4.8.

Thanks,

Todd A.

You can try Max a free batch converter application.

THanks, that's a handy app, but ultimately doesn't solve the issue for some of the more stubborn files. I'm trying to figure out what causes these corruptions. Anyone else have any ideas?

Unless you transfer via Digidelivery you should always zip those files before loading then onto an FTP site.

DVD- Archive - No.
FTP site - NO, delivered by various means, many come stuffed sitx. Many were created in house. Some can be seen just fine with FCPRO, QT etc et al, but cannot be seen by PT. Does anyone know the technical reason for this?
