Purchased HD Nativ card on ebay..

I have no idea if the software is PT9 HD. I currently am running PT 10 (LE?) w/ a BLA modded 003 rack ( I plan on selling this set up)
I haven't tried to install the card, but I am worried about two things:
I can't find the part number listed in the auction anywhere on Avid's site, and will I be able to register the software that comes with it and then upgrade?

All Native Cards come with 9HD, and a free upgrade to 10HD.
Assuming this is a new card, you're good to go.
Register the card and the software, you'll get a free upgrade email (usually) within an hour.

That's the problem, I'm pretty sure this isn't a new card. and all the software package says is "ProTool 9". There is also no ilok, which is not a problem, as I Have 2. My concren is if it is a used card and software ( I have no idea how the ebay sytore that I purchased from acquired it), will I be able to register it, and how, and will I be able to upgrade to PT 10?

Should there not have been a 'Transfer of Ownership' procedure if used?

Unfortunately, I purchased "as is"..again, I have no idea how the ebay seller acquired the card and software. I was hoping someone may be able to give me direction as to how to attain a new license, if I need to do that. I guess I will find out when i try to register the software...is there any registration needed for the HD native card?

Well...he should have provided the software with the card.
He also should have sent a transfer of ownership with the card.
"As is" or not, the eBay add says it comes with PT 9.
Can't you contact him and get the transfer form and the software?
If not, I'd just return it to him, and charge back the purchase on your credit card for it not being as advertised.

I did get the PT9 software, and if I understand how PT9 works, there is no "HD"..it simply recognizes the interface. I currently have PT10, but NOT the "HD" version. I also did recieve the original regestration card (for the software?, not sure), but no transfer of ownership paperwork, as I am pretty sure the ebay store I purchased from was NOT the original owner. I found a link on the Avid site where you can submit a transfer of owenership form. I guess I will plug the native card into my system and see what happens? I still need a HD interface, as I am currently using a BLS modded 003 rack, which works fine with the PT 10 software. I got the native card as I find the ultra-low latency appealing. I don't really need to record 256 simultaneous tracks, so i assuming the my version of PT 10 will work with the native card? It seems the line between "HD" and "regular" PT software has blurred..

Yes a Native card requires a HD Interface. Yes Native card also requires Pro Tools HD software to launch Pro Tools. 256 Voicing playback, Native card supports 64 simultaneous I/O.

So the software that came with the card (PT 9, which I had already purchased, and have a license for) will NOT work with the HD native card? Is there a upgrade path for PT 10 HD, if you own a license for "regular" PT 10 (which I also have a license for)?
