Default Noise blasts on ProTools 12.2.0.152

I'm new to ProTools, but not new to recording. Been running Cubase for 15 years, but I recently started studies where I need to learn ProTools also.

I just purchased, downloaded and updated to the newest version of PT12, 12.2.0.152 and I'm having an issue with noise blasts when moving the marker without pausing the music. It's annoying, and painful!

It comes at random, not every time, and seems to be avoided by pausing and then moving the marker. Still very annoying if you forget to hit pause though! When it starts up it seems to be coming more frequent, and a restart of the computer seems to help for a while.

The volume blasts on full, together with some white noise, for a split second and then goes back to normal. I'm afraid I'll damage my hearing and my headphones.

So far this have only occurred when running ProTools with the built in soundcard in the MacBook, and I haven't had enough time to test this with usb interfaces. Seems to be a bug in ProTools rather than the soundcard.
In this projet I'm only running stock plugs (delay, EQ, compressor and some instruments). No third party plugs yet.

I'm not sure if this would have been occurring with the previous version of PT12. Is it possible to roll back from the update and test this easily?

Anyone know of a fix? Thanks in advance!

MacBook Pro 2015
OSx Yosemite 10.10.5
16 Gb RAM
ProTools 12

Do you have any other third party plugins installed (like Nexus 2 for example) ?

Thanks for the responses so far!

I've got Kontakt Player installed. And I've tried to install UVI Workstation, so it's in the plug in folder but doesn't want to show up in ProTools for some reason. I have Blue Cat's Patchwork that I recently bought, because I have a few VST/AU only plugs I'd like to try running in PT further on (comes quite a few with Computer Music magazine). But on this particular project I'm not running any third party plugs yet.

Right now I'm learning ProTools and this is my first "real" project. I'm pretty happy with the software besides the unforgivable noise blasts, and I will have to work a lot in ProTools during the coming 4 years so I'd better get this sorted out.

Should I roll back to 11? Feels a bit drastic, but I don't really want to risk hearing loss.
Was there any easy way to roll back to an earlier version of 12, or is it just making a uninstall and re-install of everything?
