Default Stymied on loading up PT10

Downloaded the PT 10.0 upgrade from AVID. (upgrading from 8.0cs3)All licenses, iLok etc just fine. Program installs just fine. But, when I go to start it up, it gets hung when its installing the AIR plugins, specifically AIRChorus.dpm. I uninstalled everything, including the new Avid drivers, redownloaded the entire program again from my Avid account, and reinstalled...same thing. Installed the 10.0.1 patch upgrade...same result.

Clearly there's something wrong with AIRChorus.dpm file. I tried to do the repair function on re-install, that didn't do it either.

HELP!!!!!

Running on Win-7. I've done the whole SISI thing before and I KNOW my system is completely compatible...I've been running 8 with no problems. This is some sort of corrupted file or something in the download. Is there a way to bypass that one plug-in? If so, how? There's option to do that on boot up.

I just got Pro Tools 10 today... downloaded the installers and all worked 100% perfect first try but it was a clean install... no other version of Pro Tools installed

I know this may be a dumb question... but you did uninstall 8 first right?

If so... I would check all the places Pro Tools hides files and make sure the uninstaller got them ALL... if you find leftovers delete them manually... reboot and try to install 10 again

I believe there is a thread in here that tells you WHERE the uninstaller leaves rouge files after doing an "uninstall"

I meant to add, yes, I did uninstall 8 first...knew to do that. But nowhere in the docs does it say to look for the hidden files that don't uninstall! I wouldn't even know which ones that might be! For one thing, in the Program Files, Common Files, there are all the Digidesign files, including all the AIR plugins. Do I delete those? I'm a bit confused now. And WHY wouldn't the documentation mention ANY of this????!!!??

If it leaves old air plugins... then I would remove them for sure seeing how its an air plug thats giving you grief... the 10 installer will put brand new versions back any ways... just don't remove any 3rd party .dpm files... just the AIR ones just to see if you can get 10 to install

As it turns out, I found this little white paper at AVID that addressed the issue. Something about DEP settings. No idea what any of that means, but I just did what they said, and it all booted up.

But now, Structure can't locate any of its sample files!
