NEED HELP WITH DIGI002>>>>>>>>

Jus bought a 2nd hand 002,
I followed the installation instructions properly. and plugged the firewire into my audigy card, and nothing. The comp didnt recognise the 002 and neither did protools LE.
So i thought my firewire port didnt work.
So a bought a firewire card.
And followed the instructionsa again.
And still nothing.
Windows doesnt recognise the 002 and neither does tools.

So i spoke the guy i bought it from, he said that he had no probs with it, running it on a mac.

Please help, gettin v frustrated. need my tools fix......

Please post detailed system specs, error messages if any, PT software version, etc..
We will be able to help you only with these information.
Also..what lights are lit on the 002 ? And is this the 002 or the 002R ?

I run PC, with XP Pro, 1gb ram, 2.17 Processor AMD, Ptools LE 6.4 with 002 rack.
When i turn on the 002, just the mute light comes on....

and message 'Unable to locate Digidesign hardware. Make sure your hardware is connected and turned on. Click OK what the hardware is ready.'
comes up...

the firewire card is recognised fine in the hardware list....

dunno what else it could be?

Now on the off chance, my comp finally recognised that the 002 is connected, but now the 002 keeps on flashing on n off, like it recognises its connected to the comp n then it doesnt....
the 44.1 samplerate LED and the 1394 led flash, not continuously but randomly
ahhhhh
drivin me nuts this is. halfway to updating the firmware aswell......

It kinda sounds like youve bought a 002 that has the power harness problem. Did you fill in the digidesign transfer of owner ship when you bought it? If not id suggest doing so, as if you do have the
power harness problem then Digidesign will honour the repair but you need to be the registered owner.
However Id list more specific details first, ie a list of all your hardware, motherboard, HDD, video, sound card etc, and I dont think that digidesign supports using the IEEE1394 interface on a SoundBlaster. To get ProTools to run on a PC can sometimes be a labourious task, well worth it when its running but its VERY picky about hardware. Refer to the best PC for use with ProTools LE thread and the digidesign compatibility documents also, this will save you allot of grief

Open the unit and reseat all the wiring harness connections. If its the harness giving you trouble, this may get you going.

To be specific, it is the connector that is on the power supply that supplies the power supply with AC power.

This is a common problem and if you got it from ebay, I'd rip the seller in feedback (after you get him/her to sign the transfer of ownership form). You can leave a second message in feedback if you already left one.
