Default interface with more inputs for PT9 and PT10

I have a Digi 002 Console currently(lightpiped in to a Presonus Digimax FS preamp vice versa), but im thinking about selling it and upgrading to a Rack mount interface with the capability of recording at least 24 Channels with a couple of Preamps...

Can i get any ideas or suggestions on what interfaces would be ideal/optional for these additional inputs? Thanks in advance for your input

There are lots of choices out there, and some 3rd party devices can be aggregated to get to 24 channels. I personally like metric halo boxes buy they're Mac only. I've also looked at the presonus studiolive consoles. The 24.4.2 would be a cool set up. A budget and any more details/features wanted can help narrow it down.

Thanks CME, I'm actually looking for an expandable rack unit, so I can be more mobile... Thanks for those ideas though

liquid sapphire 56 could be a good choice for you. 8 preamps, with an additional 8 through light pipe. They state it's 28 inputs too.

I don't think the 56 can be aggregated with another 56, but you can use a Saffire 40 into the adat inputs.

Hmm I'll have to check my source on that. I was told it could. But then again since I'm on a pc (my mac has like a foot of dust on it), it doesn't apply to me.

What's your budget? And you're on a pc. Cool. I've heard great thing about the fireface ufx. It does 30 channel of I/O.

Budget wise, im fairly open, id spend about $2000 on a Audio Interface... I was debating the focusrite LS 56, the UFX joint, and also the Apogee Ensemble joint... but i wanted to know you guys great opinions as well

All of those units are top notch. The focusrite and RME might have an edge as they're newer designs. Also the ensemble is Mac only. So if you're considering moving to a Mac check out metric halo. I love my ULN-2, and the built in dsp is phenomenal.

That said there is a thread on here discussing the new RME software and apparently it has some really cool/powerful features. Don't think you can go wrong with any of them.
