Javascript preventing Transfuser install
After downloading my Transfuser 1.3 update I keep getting a Javascript error code:
"There was an error while evaluating Javascript for the package" and I get no further than that. Now I have the iLok has the Transfuser 1.3 license on it and I can't even use it....I don't know how to just change the license code on the iLok back to 1.1? This new AVID "my products" page doesn't even display the transfuser code but it does for PT8??? Stuck dead in the water. I tried the download twice and that 2 GB download is real slow despite my broadband....1 and 1/2 hours, I even updated my Mac with all it hadn't had since it's not normally connected including Java. Still no go. maybe there's some issue here I don't know about!? Could really use some help here.

Re: Javascript preventing Transfuser install
Tried the download again this morning this time using the download manager suspecting it is a download issue. Getting same Javascript error. Now I need some help.
Javascript errors usually are browser/webpage related. Really perplexing. What's the deal AVID?

Re: Javascript preventing Transfuser install
Hmm. Have you tried either reinstalling Javascript and/or updating to the latest version?

Re: Javascript preventing Transfuser install
No, I don't know a thing about Javascript....I'm downloading the file on a Windows machine running vista to a flashdrive...then taking that to the Mac. I do this with pretty much all updates. Should I be updating Javascript on the windows machine or on the Mac. I updated Java on the Mac last night....shouldn't Javascript be included in that?
The windows machine recieves automatic updates for everything including Java. What's frustrating is that I get no error when downloading on the windows machine.....I get it only when I try to install on the Mac.

Re: Javascript preventing Transfuser install
No - Java and Javascript are two different things entirely. Well, I should clarify that a bit by asking a question - how did you update Java, exactly? If you used the Software Update panel then you should have the latest versions of both, but best to launch Software Update again, as sometimes the updates are incremental and you need to install one before the next update will show up as being available.
How is that flash drive formatted? I suspect there's something going wrong in the download and transfer to the Mac process. Is there any reason you can't download directly to the Mac? |

Re: Javascript preventing Transfuser install
Well it's something else going on here.......!!??
I ran the software updater again. It updated Java. Then I downloaded the installer straight to the Mac. I'm still getting this error. Geesch I've got remixes to do....this has cost me 2 days. If you could point me in the direction of a link for this Javascript I'd appreciate it. Meanwhile I'd just like to be able to authorize and use V1.1 which I've had all along but didn't.....but I can't do this either because the iLok has 1.3 on it.....interlok is telling me to "insert the license card for this software"......insert a card??? Insert it where.....it makes no sense!?

Re: Javascript preventing Transfuser install
Trying to re-install and activate V1 from my installer disc but can't do that either:
"The internet activation server returned a server error(HTTP status Apple)" Can't do it manually either it just freezes! I've never been so iLok perplexed before?????? C'mon now.......? BTW the Java update link on the right side of my products page where it says: "If you are experiencing difficulties downloading files on Firefox or Safari, please download and install Java here. Our download manager is optimized for usage with Java installed on those browsers. If you have Internet Explorer on Windows, please try the download using IE." ....doesn't work.

Re: Javascript preventing Transfuser install
Sorry for the bump but I'm not getting anywhere on this. I'm stuck dead in the water.
Can't install 1.3 because of this javascript. Can't use 1.1 even though it's installed because my iLok has 1.3 on it. A little help would be great. Sorry for the nag.

Re: Javascript preventing Transfuser install
I've posted this javascript issue on the Apple forums...any word on it and I'll report what I find. What I have learned is that Java and Javascript are not the same things but there is no "Download" for Javascript...no "update". The Transfuser 1.3 update download package looks different than past Digi/AVID updates and I've never encountered this before. The only thing new to the computer was the LE 8.0.4 update. I can install other things on this computer without this error coming up.
Then I had an idea: I'll see if I can install it on my Leopard clone drive.....and it took the install. I backed up my Leopard drive to the clone drive immediately before doing the 8.0.4 update. But I can't install it on the Leopard drive while booted up on the clone and I can't use Time Machine because I've had it turned off since I've been using Carbon Copy cloner. Crud..... I re-installed 8.0.3 trying to replicate what my HD was like last week but still the error....
