Default iLok

I just did a clean install of Snow Leopard on my Mac. I also found a full version of PT 8 LE for $25; I was running 7.3 LE. I planned on buying a new iLok for 8 LE. However, I just found out that the only iLok that's sold is the $50 iLok 2! That's ridiculous! Is there any cheap software that included a fresh iLok? I figure that if I'm gonna already spend $50, I might as well get some software with it.

Thanks,
-Adam

The new iloks hold about 5 times the licenses of the old ones. Hence the price increase.

You can find used v1 iLoks on eBay. Theres a user named EJWells who regularily advertises in the Buy and Sell section here. He might have some older ones.

Protools 8 LE does not use or require Ilok, so you really don't need it.

However, 8 LE does require a Digi/Avid interface hooked up to be able to use it, so you need one of the following interfaces:

002
003
Mbox 2
Mbox 2 Mini
Mbox 2 Pro
Mbox 3 Mini
Mbox 3
Mbox 3 Pro
Eleven Rack

I was gonna get one on eBay, but all the ones that are up have already been registered.

Cool. I have an MBox 2. Atleast I can install, and try out, 8 LE while I'm searching for an iLok.
