Default Is 5.1.1 worth it $50?

I'm still running 5.0.1. Any benefits to upgrading?

Stereo tracks - a must have.

Can't remember what the other things were, but it is a worthwhile upgrade.

The trim plugin was a nice addition, as well as slightly smoother running (in my experience, but I'm on PC, so it may not apply to mac). IMO, the 5.1 upgrade is worth $50 if you use PT a lot.

Not if you have to ask.

Hey RenuiR,

I have both a Mac and a PC -- 5.0.1 will run on both. When you go to 5.1.1, do you have to purchase Mac OR PC, or do you get both again?

Looking at it, I like the ability to keep more than one plugin window open at the same time, and reorder them easily . . .

As far as I know, you would have to get them seperately.

You still can't have more than one plugin window open at a time, but another great feature that I overlooked is that you can move plugins to different tracks and re-order them (that one was a very nice addition, no more having to make a quicky preset just to move your plug to a different track).

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Just shift click them. Open as many as you want at the same time. Unless it's a PC version limitation??

Another thing is the ability to de-activate plug-ins so they are still visible in the session but they dont use any CPU. ie you can keep the settings without having to remove plugs if you are low on CPU.

Reniur,

You could also click on the red bullet-thingie. That will keep the plugin windows open too.

I THINK, but i am not sure that 5.1.1 will offer you cross-platform abilities. Quite handy if you have ptle on both platforms.....
