Default Need some "tips & tricks" on running dual monitors

I'm running PT MP9.0.5 on a Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit PC. I've recently decided to run 2 separate monitors, one for the Mix window & one for the Edit Window. I had an unused 22" HD TV sitting around, so I hooked it up via HDMI as my second monitor. However, there are a couple problems. First, I can move Pro Tools as a complete unit to either monitor (except the Transport Window, which stays put on my first monitor). However, I cannot move the Mix window or Edit window separately from either monitor to the other. If I try to do that, the window I'm moving will move on the screen it's on, but it will not appear in the other monitor. Also, the resolution on the HDTV is way off, so Pro Tools will not fit onto the screen correctly. For instance, if the mix window is pulled up, the sliders are cut off at the bottom of the screen. The resolution is currently set up at the "recommended by Windows" setting. Any advice is appreciated.

First thing to do is arrange the 2 screens and set the proper screen resolution. LCD/LED tv's should be set for their native resolution. So, a 1080P tv should be set for 1920x1080, while a 720P tv would likely be set to 1366x768. Using 2 screens with the same resolution makes things a bit easier, but any pair should work.

Regarding Pro Tools on 2 screens.....
Follow these steps and see what happens...
Do NOT maximize the main PT window
drag the edges of the main window(aka "parent" window) to fill both screens.
Drag the EDIT window to the desired screen and drag edges out to fill
Drag MIX window to desired screen and drag edges to fill
Hit Alt-F4 and save(this will close Pro Tools)
Re-open and it SHOULD be as you had it before closing.

Thanks to each of you. Worked like a charm, and it sure seems like it will be easier.
