Default Audio import Drag and Drop bug?

Using PT 10.0.1 (not HD)

The last couple of days I've been working on a project using mixes sent by a client in .aif format for editing and putting them into the correct order for a CD. I dragged the files into a new project for PT to convert and create new tracks. Pretty normal so far, but when I came to work with the audio I found that instead of .L and .R regions, PT duplicated the .L region in each track, making a "stereo" track of just the left side.

So, instead of:

First Track.L
First track.R

in the Edit Window, I have:

First Track-01.L
First Track-01.L

After an edit (or fade, whatever):

First Track-02.L
First Track-02.L

In the Regions List, the original stereo file shows up (and when disclosed, the expected .L and .R regions also show) in bold, with the created .L regions below them.

I haven't seen this before; is this a known bug? If so, Drag and Drop is currently just a Drag...

Hey Colin, can you Delete the Databases and Pro Tools/DAE Preferences and try reproducing with a newly created session?

I'll do that as soon as this project is done and report back.

Success! Deleting the Databases and Preferences did the trick!

OK, this should have been my first move, but thanks so much for reminding me to delete that stuff...

I've noticed something else:
When I drag and drop an audio file and place it directly at the very beginning of the timeline, it disappears. I have to place it a bit further, and one it's imported I can place it at the beginning.
