i have to buy pro tools 9 today...

hello,

because of a very urgent project, i have to buy pro tools 9 today (or next monday at the latest) in order to start working at home on a laptop (normally i work on TDM in various studios).

so, i have two questions:

if i buy pro tools 9 (in a box) today or next monday, will i be eligible for a free pro tools 10 upgrade when i'm ready to make the move?

and if the answer to the previous question is "yes", is there a limit date for the registration of pro tools 9? do i have to hurry up?

ps: i have to buy a "boxed" pro tools 9 in a shop because no broadband internet here, so i can't just buy and download pro tools 10...

I think most dealers will not be honoring orders for Pro Tools 9. At this point you are better off moving straight to 10.

Avid site states, purchase Full version of PT9 on or after October 1st will receive a free upgrade to PT10.

Can you 100% confirm (or someone from AVID) that the free upgrade to PT10 will work for people who bought PT9 AFTER October 1st?

well, i am now trying to persuade the band to delay the project...

i would have stuck to pro tools 9, but the "destination" laptop came with mac OS lion, and from what i read here, it seems that the boxed version of PT9 can't be installed on OS lion, and that the 9.0.5 full installer (not the updater) is only for "download versions" (and no broadband internet here, so no big download).

my head hurts
